Quick answers to the things customers ask us most.
Getting started with MGR
How does MGR Courier work?
Four simple steps. First, sign up free to get your personal MGR mailbox and U.S. shipping address. Second, shop any U.S. store online and use that address at checkout. Third, we receive, scan, and log your items at our Plantation, Florida warehouse. Fourth, we fly them to Jamaica, clear customs, and alert you the moment they're ready for pickup or delivery.
Not sure whether you already have an MGR account?
Just try registering with your email. If the portal says the email already exists, you're already set up β click "Forgot password" on the login page to get back in.
My new account isn't active yet β what now?
When you register, we email an activation link to confirm your address; click it to unlock your mailbox. If it isn't in your inbox (some email providers filter it), message our team on WhatsApp and we'll verify you manually.
Shipping times & schedule
Which days do you fly packages to Jamaica?
Shipments leave our U.S. warehouse several times a week, usually Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Exact days can shift with airline schedules and cargo availability.
How soon will my package reach Jamaica?
Once your package is received and processed at our Florida warehouse, it's typically on its way to Jamaica within 1β3 business days. Total time can vary with customs processing, flight schedules, and weather.
When are your offices open?
Monday to Friday, 9:00 AMβ5:00 PM, and Saturday, 10:00 AMβ2:00 PM.
What hours can I access the pickup lockers?
Our self-service lockers are open Monday to Saturday, 7:30 AMβ6:00 PM, so you can collect on your own schedule.
Rates, customs & duties
Where can I see your shipping rates?
The full, current rate list lives in the Rates section of this site. Rates can change as courier and freight costs adjust.
What is duty-free "weightless" shipping?
For qualifying shipments valued under US$100, you skip customs duties entirely and pay only shipping β calculated on the package's actual weight.
Will I be charged customs duties?
Any shipment with a total invoice value of US$100 or more may attract customs duties. These are set entirely by Jamaica Customs based on the item category and value, and are separate from MGR's shipping charges.
Can I estimate my customs charges in advance?
Yes β use the customs calculator inside your MGR dashboard for an indicative estimate before your package lands in Jamaica.
How can I keep my shipments duty-free?
Keep each individual shipment's combined invoice value under US$100, and space larger orders out over time instead of buying everything in one big transaction.
What do the customs status labels mean?
De Minimis β the shipment qualifies for duty-free clearance because its declared value is below the US$100 threshold.
Arrived at Destination β your package has landed in Jamaica and is queued in the secure customs depot to begin clearance.
Entry β your customs declaration has been compiled and is awaiting assessment and release by customs officers.
Pickup & islandwide delivery
Do you deliver across Jamaica?
Yes β MGR offers islandwide home and office delivery. Just choose your preferred delivery option at checkout when you settle your shipping fees.
Is home or office delivery free?
Delivery is charged separately from shipping. Base rates start at US$6.85 for packages up to 20 lbs, with a small added charge per pound above that. Your exact rate shows in the delivery portal.
How do I book a delivery?
Log in to your MGR account, add your cleared, ready-for-collection packages to your cart, choose Home Delivery, Office Delivery, or Express Pickup, then complete the address details and payment.
Can you deliver to a Knutsford Express terminal?
Yes. When you schedule delivery at checkout, just name your preferred Knutsford Express terminal in the delivery-instructions field.
What is a bad-address fee?
It's a charge applied when a delivery attempt fails because the address given was wrong, incomplete, or unclear β think missing apartment numbers or road names. Accurate details keep your delivery on time and fee-free.
What do I need to pick up my package in person?
Bring a valid government-issued photo ID (driver's license, passport, or voter ID). At our Kingston office on Hagley Park Road, enter your mailbox number or name at the kiosk and our team brings your package right out.
Can I send someone else to collect my package?
Yes. Add them as an Authorized Pickup Person in your MGR profile settings. When they arrive, they'll need to show their own valid government-issued photo ID.
Payments
How and when do I pay for a shipment?
Once your package is ready, log in, add it to your cart, choose pickup or delivery, and pay securely by credit or debit card. You can also pay in person at our Kingston office.
What we can & can't ship
Do you combine multiple packages into one?
No β MGR doesn't consolidate or split packages. Each one is processed, documented, and shipped individually, exactly as it arrives at our warehouse.
Is there a weight limit on shipments?
There's no strict maximum, but any single shipment expected to exceed 100 lbs needs a freight quote and authorization first, so please arrange that with us in advance.
Can MGR buy items for me?
No β we don't place orders or make purchases on your behalf. Our service begins once your already-purchased items arrive at your assigned MGR U.S. address.
Do you ship barrels or export from Jamaica?
We don't ship barrels β the freight volume and customs handling are too complex β so we suggest splitting goods into separate boxes, each with its own invoice. And we currently only import from the U.S. into Jamaica, not outbound from Jamaica.
Will you collect packages from a U.S. address?
No β we don't offer U.S. pickup. Every order should be sent directly to your assigned MGR U.S. warehouse address.
Which items are strictly prohibited?
To stay compliant with Jamaica Customs, international aviation rules, and U.S. air-freight law, we can't ship: alcohol or alcohol-based products; flammable, combustible, explosive, or corrosive materials; and any hazardous chemicals or illegal substances. Prohibited items found in transit may be held and disposed of, with any regulatory or return fees charged to the customer.
Which items need a special permit?
Some goods require an import permit, licence, or clearance from a Jamaican ministry or agency before they can fly. If you're unsure, check the official Jamaica Customs restricted-items list or just ask us before you ship.
